Tina has been walking, feeding, caring and cuddling our dogs for over 6 years and feels like part of the family. We couldn’t function without Tina and her incredible passion for what she does. She goes out of her way to accommodate our irregular hours, her answer is always ‘yes’ regardless of how disorganised we are, and she is utterly professional. We trust her implicitly with our dogs and our house. But most importantly, she gives us total peace of mind as we know how much she loves our dogs. Walking and feeding is a small part of what Tina does – its her care, compassion and cuddles that make the difference. She also does a huge amount of voluntary work for dogs and people, and makes a real difference to the lives of so many shelter dogs. There are a lot of ‘professional’ dog walkers in York now, but Tina is the real thing, the Gold Standard – we wouldn’t trust anyone else. Bless ya!

Simply the best doggy walker in York. Tina has walked both of my dogs for the past five years. Our old boxer dog Adelaide for 4 years, adapting to all of her needs in old age and being incredibly supportive towards the end of her life.
She now walks our 6 month old boxer Clementine who is a handful at times but Tina again adapts her style to walk with all breeds and ages of dog.
Tina is friendly, caring but not in an imposing way.
She respects your house, your dog and your needs. A true professional with a big heart.
The only advice I would give is why haven't you been getting your dog walked by Tina all of this time!

I have known Tina Abbott, who runs York Walkies for some months now, and have found her wholly committed to the task in hand. Not only does she exercise all shapes and sizes of dogs (greyhounds being her particular passion), but she also deals with a variety of other animals - cats, tortoises and hedgehogs being amongst them. During my long and disabling illness, she has fed my two elderly cats and cleaned their litter trays meticulously. Her obvious love of all animals and concern for their owners makes her a great choice for anyone who wants their pet or pets to be in safe, reliable hands.

You have been on my list to contact and say thank you for looking after Dickens, I think he is missing you quite a lot. I hope he didn’t pull any of his little tricks on you? He can be a little crafty sometimes if he thinks he can get away with it!
It made a big difference to me knowing that he was in safe hands while we were away and I will definitely be in touch again. I have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who needs a dog walker.
Many thanks again

Tina has recently been the support I needed to help me with Kym (my elderly lurcher) whilst I manage a very demanding job. The flexibility, responsiveness and enthusiam Tina has shown in providing many different doggy services, means that whatever the circumstances, I can count on her to help me with Kym when I need it most.
I can wholeheartedly recommend York Walkies to walk, care for, clean and cuddle your family member when you can't be there.
I am certain that Kym would like nothing better than to spend her remaining days with Tina but she's stuck with me instead!

Tina has been walking Max for several months now and we could not be happier with her service.
From the initial phone call I knew Tina was the right choice for us; she is highly organised, very professional and efficient and she makes it easy and hassle free for the owner (or mum and dad, as Max is like a baby!)
I have 100% confidence in her with Max and our door key. At our initial meeting she reassured us Max would not be let off the lead and we also discussed arrival times.
I don't feel there is anyone in York offering the level of service Tina does, from the individual walks to towelling their feet when they get home again to texting you when she has locked up the house.
Her prices are excellent compared to other companies who walk dogs in groups, and the option of internet transfer to pay is so convenient.
Max loves Tina, and I do not worry about her walking him, I would never hesitate to recommend her, she is fabulous.

Hi Tina, we looked on your website this am so we could put some feedback but wasn’t sure where to put it, so I wanted to email you to say a big thank you for taking such good care of Archie.
It's always difficult leaving your pets, but when we met yourself and your husband we knew your aim was to ensure Archie would be looked after just as well as if he was at home with us. You are very professional with an individual approach ensuring Archie's routine was catered for, including his happiness and safety, but you went that extra mile, keeping us updated with how he was doing while we were away.
The CD was amazing and we couldn’t wait to see all the photos, they were fab.
It has been a positive experience for us and Archie and would definitely be booking Archie in again.
Many thanks from Keith, Lisa, Milli, Harvey and Archie

Some of the people and businesses that we love.
Where York Walkies goes on holiday!
In Northumbria, Coquet Cottages welcome dogs in many of their cottages, providing water and food bowls and a treat for your dog as a matter of course, and dog beds to hire. The cottages are of a very high standard and the nearby Northumbrian beaches are perfect for walking your dog. Most of the pubs in the area are also pet friendly.
I'm sure you've noticed that some of the pictures on here are rather more gorgeous than others. That's because we are friends with The Phodographer.
I am lucky enough to have had two Muddy Good Walks with Annemarie, and the images I now have of my four legged family are more precious than anything, as are my memories of the walks. I promise you wouldn't be disappointed!
Sniff out The Phodographer website here.
It's all about the greyhounds
My friends and I (known as Team Pointy) run a monthly greyhound walk. We meet at the Fulford Arms on the first Sunday of the month at 10.30 am and set off at 11 - you can read all about the walks here
